Anomabo Beach Resort

This weekend we went to Anomabo Beach Resort. We were only going to go for an afternoon, but after mom and dad saw that it had running water and air conditioning, they decided to stay for 26 hrs. Emily and I had a fantastic time swiming in the warm Atlantic ocean and sun bathing under coconut trees. Mom and Dad stayed in the room with the air con playing cards and watching movies. (They REALLY miss air con)

My favorite part of the trip besides the wonderful ocean was the running water. That was pretty amazing. We all had a moment where we didn't know what to do with our toilet paper and then we realized, "Oh! You put it in the toilet!" We were all very happy about that.
There was a resteraunt close to the beach called Castillo del Diablo, or The Castle of Satan, which could be fitting due to the fact that some different food was sinfully delicious. We ordered some pizzas and they were very good. I don't know if it is because we haven't had pizza in a while or because it was good. Mom went to the "Snack Shack" (with no snacks) and ordered potato chips to be sent to the room. The guy at the counter said, "How many plates?" or something like that. All of a sudden I realized that due to the Ghanians using British English we had just ordered four plates of french fries. Curse the British and their stupid names!!! But the french fries were warm and delicious. (which is really wierd because I don't like french fries that much, but I guess my taste buds were aching for a change in flavor.)

We also found some amazing shells when we went on a walk in the evening. Nothing quite compares to walking barefoot on a sandy beach with warm water lapping at your toes, and the sun setting over the water with a cool evening breeze blowing through your hair. Nope nothing quite compares. Sigh.
But the good new is that mom and dad loved being cooped up in a room with air con so much that they decieded to come again next week! So it is a short good bye to Anomabo till next Friday when we will meet again.
